Mizoram elects a record three women to state assembly

Lalrinpuii won from Lunglei East, Vanneihsangi from Aizawl South-3 and Pravo from West Tuipui. The first woman to be elected to the legislature - Mizoram was elevated to a Union territory in 1972 with a 30-member legislature - was L Thanmawii of People's Conference
